Molina, Josefina

   Filmmaker

   In 1968 Molina became the first woman in Spain to graduate from the Escuela Oficial de Cine in film-directing. She works for television and has been responsible for highly acclaimed series such as Teresa de Jesus (1984). She combines her career in television with theatre and film direction. In 1993 she revived a classical popular text La Lola se va a los puertos (The Flamenco Singer) for contemporary audiences and explored Spain's recent changes in social attitudes in her 1990 Lo mas natural (The Most Natural Thing).
